REBUILDING SYLVIA PARK USING SHAPES!!!

To get students of Room 16 thinking about shapes and Geometry in general Whaea Maxx set a Task for all members of the class.

All children had their Architecture hats on and had to think about shapes they would need to rebuild Sylvia Park School.

They could choose to either rebuild a block of the school like the Junior Area, Middle School Area, Senior School, Office and Administration Area, Hall, Playground, Classroom or School Field.

Room #16 went out during Maths time for a couple of minutes and Sat in different locations of the school to look at different Shapes that are used to make certain buildings.

SWISS & CHARLIE VISIT US!!!

THIS WEEK WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE 2 GREAT MUSIC ARTISTS VISIT OUR SCHOOL. 

SWISS (Music artist produced by DawnRaid Entertainment) and Charlie (Three houses down).  

BOTH VISITING SYLVIA PARK SCHOOL TO PROMOTE TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK.   

Children had so much fun singing along to "Hey Girl", "To the Moon and back" and "Blue by you".

TIMELINE OF CHANGE!!!

This Week Room #16 have created a timeline of all the changes that have happened in their lives over the past couple of years.

Happy & Sad Changes but without these changes they wouldn't be the great students that they are today.  

Room #16 realise that things do happen for a reason.

FAREWELL TO THE MASAGA FAMILY

This week we had Farewell for the one and only MASAGA FAMILY...

Whaea Nikki and her little family are moving to Japan so SPS held a special assembly to thank her for all her hard work and love she has shared over her many years of working here at Sylvia Park School.

Was a wonderful day full of happy tears and great laughter.

ZOO TRIP....YAYE!!!!

This week Room 16 alongside other classes were able to go on a school trip to the Auckland Zoo. 

The main focus of our trip was to answer any questions we had from last term and look at the focus question and statement and question for this term.

 

We were lucky enough to have a session with John who was such a great help to us.  The main focus for our session was to see how “Water Conservation at the Zoo and the other sustainable changes”.

Today for Inquiry Whaea Maxx shared some pictures of herself over the past years.  

As a class we were able to see the changes that our own classroom teacher has made over the years.
